On March 7, ALberta Premier Jason Kenney announced that “Alberta will end the collection of the Provincial fuel tax,”.

Kenney says that this removal of the provincial fuel tax starting April 1 should reduce the price of gas for Albertas by 13 cents per litre.

During the announcement, Kenney said this action “means the price at the pump will drop by 13 cents a litre,”.

However, the tax will be applied on a sliding scale basis.

The Federal Carbon Tax is set to increase by 0.03 per litre on April 1st.
