CBC reported on Monday night that the Trudeau government is set to announce an end to its mandatory vaccination requirement for Canadian travellers.

On October 30, 2021, the Trudeau government announced that all Canadians boarding planes or trains would have to be fully vaccinated to travel within their own country or abroad.

Calls for the Trudeau government to lift its vaccine mandate have been multiplying in recent months, as most industrialized countries dropped their vaccine mandates in the midst of the Omicron variants.

Canadian travellers are also still required to wear masks in planes and trains, despite the fact that mask mandates have been lifted for weeks in Canadian provinces.

It is unknown whether the mask mandate will also be lifted.

More details will come.
