Canada PM Trudeau Says U.S. Border Closed Until Virus “under control everywhere around the world”

On Tuesday, December 1, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that the Canadian government will not agree to lift the ban on non-essential travel with the United States until the coronavirus cases are significantly under control around the world.

On Tuesday, Trudeau said that “Until the virus is significantly more under control everywhere around the world, we’re not going to be releasing the restrictions at the border,”. 

The Canadian-U.S. border restriction has been in place since March 2020 and has been extended every month since its implementation.
