Canadian grocery store tries to sell pre-made salad for $42 in Ontario

The post about the exorbitant salad price was first posted in an Ontario Reddit group.

The poster said in the post that he had to do a “double-take” because the price was so shocking that he thought it may have been a typo.

The poster also said that in their experience “Sobeys is the worst-priced but the best selection”.

Recently, CTV News reported that one other grocery store was selling a pack of chicken breasts for $37.

The outlet also reported that the chain confirmed and justified the price because it was a “premium” product.
