Lightfoot stated: “Chicago will and must be a safe haven for all of those who are denied their right to an abortion. Today’s announcement will ensure that every patient, no matter where they live, has access to the essential health care they need and deserve.”

On May 4, she always said that “If you are in need of an abortion or any other reproductive care, Chicago will always be there for you.”

Earlier, Lightfoot promised that she “will do everything I can to guarantee your right to an abortion.”
