The World Economic Forum annual meeting is ongoing and began on May 22, 2022, and runs until May 26, 2022.
The WEF says the annual meeting “will embody the World Economic Forum’s philosophy of collaborative, multistakeholder impact, providing a unique collaborative environment in which to reconnect, share insights, gain fresh perspectives, and build problem-solving communities and initiatives.”
Adding that it will be done “Against a backdrop of deepening global frictions and fractures, it will be the starting point for a new era of global responsibility and cooperation.”
The annual meeting has a long list of partners, including Google, Amazon, AstraZeneca, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, J&J, and Pfizer, among many others.
Some of the topics being discussed at the meeting include climate change and technology. In one of the discussions, Alibaba Group president J. Michael Evans discusses the development of an “individual carbon footprint tracker” that would track where individuals travel, how they travel, what food they consume, and their tastes and preferences online, among other things.
