On December 26, 2022, Ipsos posted a new poll that found that a majority (54%) of Canadians think that Justin Trudeau should “step down as Liberal Leader and that Canada should have a new Prime Minister,”.

Ipsos also found that this feeling was most widely shared among Canadian men (58%), while 49% of women also believe that Justin Trudeau should no longer be the leader of the Liberal Party and that Canada needs a new Prime Minister.

Additionally, this view is most widely shared by those who live in ALberta (65%).

Out of all provinces, people in Quebec were the least likely to share this view (43%) that Justin Trudeau should no longer be the leader of the Liberal Party and that Canada needs a new Prime Minister.

While 57% of those in Atlantic Canada believe this, 56% of those who live in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, 56% of those in Ontario, and 54% of people who live in British Columbia say it is time for a new Prime Minister.

However, while the majority of Canadians think Justin Trudeau should step down as the leader of the Liberal Party, only 27% believe he would actually step down as the leader of the party.
