In Quebec, we all remember the heinous murder of young Brigitte Serre, which occurred in a gas station in Saint-Léonard in January 2006. At the age of 17, Brigitte was brutally murdered with 72 stab wounds by Sébastien Simon, with the complicity of Tommy Gagné. They both received life sentences, with no possibility of release for 25 years for Sébastien Simon and 10 years for Tommy Gagné.

After last week, when the vote to remove the blacked-out (redacted) portions of the WE scandal documents was suspended in the Finance Committee by the Liberal chair, subsequent planned meetings have been blocked and canceled by the Liberal chair Wayne Easter. Since Parliament has come back into session, the Conservatives have been working to revive the push for documents related to the WE scandal.

The Parliamentary Budget Office said yesterday in a report that the liberal government would need to increase its ineffective carbon tax fivefold to meet its emissions targets or $289 per tonne. This would amount to a $0.69 tax on every litre of gasoline sold in Canada.
