The U.S. Navy’s only training boot camp in the country has reinstated a mask mandate

On August 12, 2022, the Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois announced that it would be reintroducing a mask mandate on the base.

On Facebook, the Naval Station Great Lakes announced that it would be reinstating a mask mandate as of Monday, August 15, 2022.

The Facebook post says “Personnel onboard Great Lakes are required to wear a mask indoors at all times to include the Navy Exchange and the Commissary.”

The Naval Station Great Lakes is “the Navy’s largest training installation and the home of the Navy’s only Boot Camp”, according to the U.S. Navy’s official website.

“NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.”
